Radiology Program

This is a one day course for a dental assistant who is already trained by a licensed dentist in taking x-rays. Enrollee must possess at least three months continuous on-the-job training in the State of Florida through assisting in the positioning and exposing of dental radiographic film. After performing skills in a clinical setting and passing a written exam with a grade of 75% or better a certificate will be issued.

Program description

Who can enroll

This course is designed for dental assistants who:

• Have a minimum of three months of clinical experience

• Are able to perform dental X‑ray procedures independently

You may carry out the required procedures using the techniques you were originally taught, as long as they meet accepted clinical standards.

To earn your Florida Dental Radiology Certification, you must achieve a score of 75% or higher on the exam and successfully complete the hands‑on clinical assessment.
